The Mountain Jester

The Mountain Jester  was written for the Fredonia Cello Choir in the fall of 2018. This piece is a variation on the theme from “Peer Gynt” by Edvard Grieg, following the tale of a jester who worked in the hall of the Mountain King. It is comprised of three sections--the first, a nostalgic recollection of working in the hall, the second, a brush with death and a chase through the forest, and the third, a solemn ending with a sarcastic twist.
